Crimson Knight Update

I've been busy working, but I've also managed to find time to write.
Crimson Knight is growing up. :-)  My word count is currently at 41,000 and rising.  I'm shooting for a final count of around 60,000 since this is the first in a proposed trilogy.
I plan to relaunch Crimson Knight in August with the new word count and with a new cover.  I've decided the current cover is too pedestrian.  I'd love to have the money to commission a professional cover, but that's not in the cards right now.
I have a page on Facebook so please feel free to like it and befriend it:

I give up for now

I can't seem to get a handle on Blood of an Enemy.  It doesn't want to go where I want it to so, I'm scrapping it for now.  It's aggravating to me not to be able to express in writing what I am seeing in my head.

So, what now?  I have the germ of an idea for a story called Soul Reaver and another I haven't titled yet.  There's also Demon in Disguise that needs to be put on the computer still.  I finally found the other half of the story so I need to get it done.  I have to work the next three days, but I think I can put in some time on it Saturday and Sunday and during my days off.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Farewell to Sanctuary

Before I moved, this was my sanctum - at Diboll's Temple Memorial Library.  I had a great view of the highway via two walls of windows, and it was back in a corner surrounded by bookshelves so I had a sense of privacy and seclusion in which to write/craft/read. *sigh* I'm going to miss that place.

Not Related To Writing

I have not done any serious writing since my last post, if blogging can be considered "serious" writing.

I have been crafting instead and working out scenes for Blood of an Enemy in my head.  I find that crocheting helps me focus when I'm imagining the scenes I want to write.  I am still working out the plot so that's slowing down the creative process as well.

Hubby Update: He's still working on getting transferred from western Illinois to southern Illinois, but he won't know anything for sure until May - if he's lucky.  He's begun writing me erotica and wants me to send him some back that I've written myself.  I haven't written much erotica.  I find it a hard thing to describe in words, maybe because for me, sex is more than physical.  I am going to try to write him something today though to send out on Thursday - just for him.

Work: work is still work.  I am still getting a lot of job satisfaction out of being able to help people find what they want as well as figure out what they want in the first place.  Lowe's is a place where most people know what they've come to get, they just don't know where to find it exactly.  Others come because they want something, but they're not sure just what it is they want.  I help both categories of people, and we all walk away happy 98% of the time.

I've been exercising every day for the past 15 days.  I've been on an exercise/diet regimen since I got here in Nov. 2011, but my exercise wasn't a daily thing until the first of April.  I am determined to lose more weight and inches so that I'm as healthy as I can be.  I have inherited degenerative disc disease as well as AADD so I have issues with some things most people do without thinking.  Something as easy as bending over can, and does at times, cause me severe pain.  Focusing on a task takes effort sometimes too.  However, I have learned to manage both conditions without the use of medication - thus far - and I will continue to do so for as long as I can.

This is my update on my life thus far.  I am not sure when I'll get back to my serious writing, but I'll keep you posted.

Since last we met

Between work, crocheting and looking for a second part time job, I haven't had a lot of free time for writing.

I did find the second half of Demon in Disguise, a fantasy novella I wrote and thought I'd lost on the move down from Illinois.  I'll be working on getting that on the computer and putting Blood of an Enemy on hold until it's all done.  I'd like Demon to be the first novella published this year and have it on the market by June at the latest if at all possible.

Hubby is doing okay - still fighting to get transferred to a prison in S. Illinois, but it looks promising he'll get what he wants in May, late May but still May. :-)  They're messing with his mail by holding it for nearly a week at a time, but they send outgoing mail from him on time.  It's about all they can do to punish him since he's already in segregation and alone all the time.  I'll be glad when he's home and all of this is behind us.

It's Friday

I'm getting ready to go to work in a bit. I am enjoying work still despite having an ongoing issue with a fellow employee I am going to take care of today.

Hubby is supposed to be getting transferred to a Southern Illinois prison later this month.  This means he'll have a better chance at earning time off for good behavior than in the prison he's currently in.

I am working on three crafting projects right now. I began a blog for just that. :-)  I am working on sewing a corset for a friend.  I am crocheting a blanket for my best friend in Red Heart Burgundy yarn.  I am crocheting an afghan for the wife of a man who was kind and generous to hubby in Red Heart purple yarn.
