Today in my little world

I got busy helping a neighbor doing some things so I didn't get any of my own projects done. I'm not complaining though because she's a nice old lady with health issues, and she needs help from time to time.  Fiercely independent, I can tell when it bothers her to ask for help of any kind, and I don't begrudge it because she's just so sweet.

Work has been rough physically.  I did a lot of ladder climbing and moving of shop vacs on and off shelves trying to get things sorted out for inventory.  I'm basically the only one in my department doing it since the department manager is gone and not around to give out assignments.  I don't mind doing it because it could cost me my job if we fail inventory.  I have an incentive you see.  The others aren't so bothered by losing their jobs because one is pretty much retired and the other has a second job.  I'm also irritated by a system that isn't efficient and neat so having to hunt for stuff two bays down from where it's being sold makes me waste time and energy best spent doing other things.

I have not done any writing in the last few days, but I am working on making time.  Demon in Disguise is just begging to be released this year. :-)

Crimson Knight is complete!

I finally got the rewrite done, and Crimson Knight is now, by industry standards, a novel!

I have sent it to two editors for a once over and then, when they clear it, it'll be sent off to my publisher - along with its new cover - for review.  I'll get sent a blue book for any changes that need to be done once it passes review, and once the changes are made - if any - Crimson Knight will be ready for it's relaunch.

I  hope to hear back from my two editors very soon so I can continue the process towards preparing Crimson Knight for relaunch!

Crimson Knight News - Almost Done!!

That's right, I'm in the home stretch of the rewrite of my first fantasy novel!!  It's almost a full grown novel anyway - I need about 3800 more words to reach the industry standard's bare minimum on word count.  I have two new scenes to add, and I need to rework the final scene since I'm changing the ending a bit.

I plan to have the rewrite done no latter than the 7th so I can have it electronically submitted to the publisher on the 8th.  It takes them a few days to review everything and get back to me to let me know if any formatting changes need to be done.  Once the review is complete, I'll submit to receive the blue book via regular mail and go from there :-)

Oh yes, I've redone the cover art for the book as well.  I thought it deserved it.  I'm hoping it does the trick.

Let me know what you think!

Facebook Pages

I have pages for all five of my published books on Facebook.  These pages will be updated as things happen, like the edition changing triggering a lowering of the price of said book.  I'll also post about planned sequels and additions to the books these events relate to.  I may make a page just for announcing things I do that are directly related to my books such as book signings and such.

I'll also publish these events here on my blog, of course.  I'll post my facebook page links in the blogs to come.  I'm job hunting today.

Blood of an Enemy Update

I needed to do a rewrite of the first part of the story because I wasn't happy with it.  I'm now only 14 handwritten pages along, but I am working on it.  I hope to have it completely done and sent to my publisher by May 2012.

Disaster Has Struck!

The other half of my finished fantasy novella Demon in Disguise which I had thought was left back in Illinois has in fact, completely disappeared!!

This means I'm going to be spending the next three to six months rewriting the missing parts when I had been planning on releasing the book in January!

Ugh!

I had just started the second volume of my Blood series too!  Well maybe, I can work on both?  I wish I had some yarn so I could brain storm while crocheting.  It seems to help.  What doesn't help is my 4 yr old god daughter running amok like she does.....

I'll be so glad when I can find a job and get my own place!

Enough self pity, off to work on my book.

The Crimson Knight Facebook Page link

http:www.facebook.com/LadyKityaBook1.

The above is the link for my newly created page for The Crimson Knight on Facebook.  I would've used TheCrimsonKnight as the username for this page, but it was already taken.  I'll have to see who is using the name as I am curious. :-)

The page is in the process of being constructed and will be updated as often as I feel it necessary.
It is the first book is a three part series if I haven't already mentioned that.

Feel free to contact me on the page and on facebook using the name: Billy Griffin. My profile pic has Happy Bunny on it, a lot of them. :-)

The Crimson Knight

The Crimson Knight is my first fantasy novel I've ever gotten published.  It's the first of my books I'd like to talk about.

The book is available in paperback form only.  You can get it from the link below:
https://www.createspace.com/3418785

This book was written so anyone could finish it in about an hour.  It's only 5.25inches wide by 8 inches tall so it'll fit in a backpack, a tote, even some pockets.  It's 126 pages long so you can read it while waiting to see a doctor, dentist, a plane, a bus, whatever.

The story is about young Kitya, a lesser noble who ran away from home when she was 13 after being raped by a nobleman and not believed by her family.  The story begins when she's 16 and comes home for a visit while her father is hosting a tourney.  While she's there, her baby sister, Kitma, is raped by the same nobleman who raped her.  Kitya's now out for revenge, and she gets help from a member of the Crimson Knights, Sir Angarde.

I'm not going to tell you more than that, you'll just have to get the book to find out what happens.

Let me know what you think if you do get the book!!

New Beginnings

These first posts are always the hardest.  What do you say?

I'm an author, as I stated in my profile.  I've been writing since I was 11 years old, and I published my first set of books a couple of years ago.  I'm currently working on two books, and both are going slow since I had to move from Illinois where I've been living for the past 7 years, back to Texas where I was born and raised.

I write mostly fantasy, but I have tried my hand at poetry, romance, and gothic horror.

I enjoy reading a great deal.  It lets me see what the competition is up to.  I post reviews on Goodreads.com from time to time.  I plan on doing it on here a great deal.  If you have something you'd like me to read and review, let me know.  I'll read most anything.

I'm 41,married and the mother of 2 boys.  I like cats but don't own any at present.  I'm an eclectic person, I like a great many things.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.  I'll feel free to answer or not, depending on the question.

Here's to looking at a bright new future with all of you readers and bloggers!
